We are now looking for a Lead Risk Expert, Model Risk Regulation to lead Model Risk team’s role in interpreting and applying regulations related to models used in Nordea. The role holders will also be responsible to manage engagement with regulators on model risk matters on behalf of the Model Risk team.

About this opportunity
Welcome to the Model Risk and Validation team. We add value by advising and challenging the business areas and functions to use models within the bank’s model risk appetite. As Lead, Model Risk Regulation you’ll play a valuable role in advicing stakeholders in complying in models related regulatory requirements e.g. Capital Requirements Regulations, EU AI Act, etc.
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead and formulate firm’s house view on regulations that apply to models used in the firm
- Advice First Line in complying with relevant ECB regulations that apply to models used across the firm
- Manage and lead engagement with ECB and local regulators on model/model risk related matters
- Provide advice to Head of the team on model related regulations
- Advice validation staff in interpreting relevant regulations
- Set up and manage processes to undertake self-assessment on relevant model related regulations
- Responsible to provide assurance on CRR articles not covered in scope of validation team
You’ll join a model risk function that is helping the bank to use safely use models to create value for its customers and shareholders. The role is based in Copenhagen; Helsinki; Stockholm; Warszawa.

Your experience and background:
- 15 years of experience in dealing with model regulations such as CRR, EU AI Act, etc
- Experience of leading firm’s engagement with ECB JST on capital models (IRB preferred)
- Prior experience of working in capital models regulatory engagement team in European GSIB/DSIB firms
- Masters degree in quantitative discipline or public policy affairs
- Though leader with strong communication skills
