We are looking for a Lead Risk Expert in the securitisation and Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR) team with strong industry experience. This is an opportunity for you to drive the securitisation risk management work with a team of highly skilled colleagues, enabling it to deliver on the Securitisation risk agenda, and continuously improve risk management capabilities. 

 

About our team

 

Meet the Counterparty Credit Risk Management team. As the Lead Risk Expert, you will be a senior member of Group Financial Risk Management and Control-unit. The unit is accountable for ensuring Nordea's Market and Counterparty Credit Risks are well understood and managed across the group. The role will be part of the Financial Risk Management function and will add value by driving the securitisations risk area forward, by evaluating, challenging and reporting of Nordea’s securitisation risk via stress testing and daily risk management activities. Areas covered by the team are Counterparty Credit Risk, xVA Market Risk, Securities Financing and Securitisation Risk.

Main responsibilities in this role:

  • Own and develop the 2nd line risk management on securitisation
  • Perform in-depth analysis on the securitisation portfolio and stress test results, prepare and explain the risk analysis to senior stakeholders, committees and regulators 
  • Develop, maintain. review and control processes in the securitisation space, engaging with stakeholders to test the adequacy of the outcomes
  • Understand key drivers and risks in order to ensure that the securitisation analysis can support business decisions
  • Corporate closely with Group Credit in order to understand the underlying loans in the transactions
  • Oversee 1st line risk management and procedures of securitisation
  • Support other financial risk management tasks including change projects, live-deal assessments & approvals
  • Continuously develop your own understanding of prevailing and emerging industry risks relevant for securitisation

  • Exceptional analytical skills

 

The ideal candidate will be an experienced financial professional with a deep knowledge of securitization, derivative products, pricing and risk. A candidate should also have excellent stakeholder management skills, be comfortable in front of senior professionals and be an advocate of the importance of a strong risk culture within the bank.

 

Your background and skills include: 

  • 5 years+ experience operating within a financial markets role. Experience in securitisation is seen as an advantage
  • Knowledge of financial products with prior professional experience analysing/modelling derivatives
  • Candidate is likely to have an excellent academic background, including a degree in a quantitative discipline, such as economics, finance, statistics/mathematics, sciences or engineering
  • Excellent written and spoken English – Nordea’s official language is English
  • Programming experience is seen as an advantage
