Join us and help shape the future of payments and rates infrastructure.

Would you like to play a key role in maintaining and evolving the platforms that power some of the most businesscritical payment and interest systems in the Nordics? We’re looking for a proactive IT Developer to help us strengthen our IBM Mainframe (z/OS) and HP Nonstop platforms that support high-volume payments and interest rate processing.

You don’t need prior experience with Mainframe or HP Nonstop to apply. What’s most important to us is your willingness to learn, your curiosity and your drive to work with critical infrastructure in a fast-paced financial environment.

Nordea is a place where traditions meet tomorrow. We're not just a bank, we're a tech employer on a mission to evolve finance securely and responsibly. Together, we impact millions of people’s daily lives by ensuring they can access our solutions anytime, anywhere, while safeguarding their personal data and wealth. Join us in making an impact on the banking industry.

About this opoortunity

You’ll be joining our Front Office FX Systems team, responsible for systems that require extreme stability, security, and uptime. These platforms are the hidden engines behind our daily payment flows, interest calculations, and operational resilience. As the IT Developer in this area, you will work closely with both technology and business stakeholders to ensure our systems remain reliable, future-proof, and continuously improving.

What you'll be doing

Main responsibilities in this role:

  • Developing, maintaining, and optimizing systems running on IBM Mainframe and HP Nonstop
  • Learning and mastering legacy infrastructure technologies still essential to the financial industry
  • Supporting and evolving payment and interest processing solutions in a highly critical environment
  • Collaborating with stakeholders across technology, operations, and business to implement change initiatives
  • Working in an agile team setup with high focus on quality, reliability, and operational excellence

Who you are

This is the right role for you if:

  • A curious and motivated developer who enjoys solving complex challenges
  • Detail-oriented but able to keep the big picture in mind
  • A team player who values stability, quality, and critical system thinking
  • Open to learning new technologies, especially ones that few others master

Your background and skills include:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
  • You don’t need prior experience with Mainframe or HP Nonstop – but if you have it, that’s a big plus
  • Experience working with business-critical systems or infrastructure is beneficial
  • Strong analytical mindset and willingness to dig into complex system architecture

What we offer

Collaboration. Ownership. Passion. Courage. These are the values that guide us in how we work and how we make decisions – and that we imagine you share with us.

People are driven by many different factors. For some, it’s to take their career to the next level. For others, it’s to break new ground within their area of expertise – in other words, with us, you will always move forward.

A culture that fosters performance and growth in one of the largest Nordic banks, offering various opportunities to evolve, develop and learn from brilliant colleagues with diverse backgrounds in a vibrant working environment.

Hybrid working model – we believe in the value of bringing people together and at the same time we embrace the freedom of flexibility.

Diversity and inclusion are a natural part of our daily work. We know that an inclusive workplace is a sustainable one. We genuinely believe that our diverse backgrounds, experiences, characteristics and traits make us stronger together. Every day we strive to find new ways to improve diversity and inclusion within our community e.g. we have signed the European Diversity Charters in the countries where we operate to show our commitment and engage with others to continue learning and improving.
