About this opportunity

You will join the Funding, Capital and Resolutions Legal team in Group Corporate Legal, DK, where we provide legal support in various areas including corporate law, corporate governance, capital markets law and prudential regulatory matters for the entire Nordea Group, as well as regulatory- and civil law matters specifically for the business of Nordea Kredit. 

As the Senior Legal Counsel, you will be providing high quality legal services in close cooperation with other lawyers in a transforming business and challenging regulatory environment. This is a generalist role in the sense that you will provide legal support in all corporate legal aspects that are relevant to Nordea Kredit and Nordea’s branch in Denmark, but also support the overall functions of Nordea together with your colleagues in Group Corporate Legal. You will in particular work very closely with the Board, CEO and management of Nordea Kredit.

What you’ll be doing:

• Act as Board Secretary and lead the Board Secretariat in Nordea Kredit
• Support business areas, group functions and senior leadership teams by providing professional legal advice and guidance in relation to the various issues which arise from the day-to-day operations and business, in particular for Nordea Kredit
• Assessing and advising on the applicability and implementation of the group’s internal policies and guidelines
• Tracking of new regulations and markets practices applicable to the Danish branch and Nordea Kredit
• Assisting in matters where Nordea Kredit is interacting with the Danish FSA and other relevant Authorities

• Solid understanding of Danish corporate law and corporate governance relevant to financial institutions
• Excellent Danish and English skills, written and spoken
• High level of integrity, excellent analytical and communication skills with the ability to break down complex information in an understandable way
• True team spirit, an open mind and positive attitude

Your experience and background:

• Master’s law degree from a Danish university
• Experience and expertise of prudential financial regulation and/or capital markets regulation is a benefit
• Several years of relevant work experience, preferably from a financial institution or a law firm
