We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Tech Lead for Data Engineering & Warehousing - a strategic leadership position requiring exceptional technical depth, proven influence, and autonomous execution capabilities. This role is critical to establishing technical excellence and automation standards while optimizing our Snowflake-based data platform. We need a self-driven professional who can architect efficient solutions, drive automation initiatives, and establish best practices across high-performing teams. .

 

About our team

 

Welcome to the Trading Data Warehouse & BI team. You will work in a fast-paced, agile environment, with stakeholders representing Scandinavia’s largest trading floor. We support a wide range of business processes in Nordea’s Trading business domain. You’ll join a team of enthusiastic data professionals across Scandinavia, Poland and India. This role is based in either Denmark or Poland.

 

As a Tech Lead, your main responsibilities will include:

Technical Standards & Architecture

  • Establish and enforce technical standards for data engineering practices and code quality
  • Define architectural patterns for efficient Snowflake utilization and data pipeline design
  • Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual work and improve operational efficiency
  • Optimize Snowflake performance through query optimization, cost management, and resource allocation

 

Automation & Process Excellence

  • Design and implement automated ETL/ELT processes leveraging Snowflake's cloud capabilities
  • Establish CI/CD pipelines for data workflows and deployment automation
  • Implement automated testing frameworks for data quality and pipeline validation
  • Drive operational efficiency through intelligent automation and monitoring solutions

 

Platform Optimization & Best Practices

  • Optimize Snowflake utilization including warehousing, clustering, and cost management
  • Establish data modeling standards and governance frameworks
  • Implement monitoring and alerting for proactive issue detection and resolution
  • Ensure data quality standards through automated validation and testing

 

Team Leadership & Technical Influence

  • Mentor and develop team members in Snowflake best practices and modern data engineering
  • Drive knowledge sharing and establish centers of excellence
  • Influence technical decisions across stakeholder teams and business units
  • Lead technical reviews and establish coding standards and practices

 

Who you are

 

Your background and skills include:

  • 7+ years in data engineering with strong Python and SQL expertise.
  • Deep understanding of data engineering, cloud, IT/DevOps, and software engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of data modelling, warehousing concepts, and query optimization.
  • Proficiency in CI/CD, automation, and containerization/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Hands-on experience applying AI for automation, code generation.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
