Then you should consider the Nordea Group Public Affairs Team as your next career step. We are now looking for a public affairs professional to join our team as a Head of Public Affairs Norway.


At Nordea, public affairs is part of the Group Regulatory Management organisation, and the first step in the regulatory value chain. A key task for our team is therefore to monitor, follow and review new legislative initiatives and proposal in the financial services sector, and plan and execute advocacy activities in Norway and the EU. This includes coordinating the development of Nordea’s positions on key regulatory files.


Public policy is a key driver for change in Europe, and being on top of these developments is crucial to ensure Nordea continue to deliver the best services for our customers.


Your future responsibilities


We are looking for a new member to a new Public Affairs unit in Group Regulatory Management in Group Legal.


This role is an unique opportunity to work in a pan-Nordic team, work closely with Nordea’s experts across the bank. You will also work closely with Group Communications and Group Legal in Norway, in addition to the public affairs team. Externally, we expect you to build relations with associations, and policy-makers in the EU and locally in your market. As a team, we add value to our stakeholders by being a trusted and constructive partner, and in supporting Nordea’s business by making sure we adapt to heightened expectations and have the best possible operational environment to serve our customers.


What you’ll be doing:

  • You will be following and analysing the political landscape in Norway and you coordinate Nordea’s engagement in Finance Norway.
  • You will plan and execute advocacy activities including meetings and events with external stakeholders.
  • You will prepare material and give presentations to different internal and external forums.
  • You will coordinate the work of Nordea representatives in external associations.


This role does not involve staff management responsibilities.


The position is based in Oslo, but will be part of the Nordic team, and report to Head of Group Public Affairs located in Helsinki.

Your profile and background: 

  • Previous work with the development of financial regulations in general and public affairs/advocacy specifically would be an advantage, including interactions with or background from policy makers and/or public authorities. But an interest in financial regulation and a willingness to learn will also do.
  • Experience from Norwegian financial markets and/or politics would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge about the EU and the forthcoming regulation would be a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, including: messaging/targeting, simplifying complex information in text and power point format.
  • You hold a Master’s degree.
