About our team  

 

The TxB Legal team role is to support the everchanging world of payments and payments infrastructure, enabling Nordea to deliver worldclass technical solutions for our customers.

 

We also work with cash management, cards, mobile payments, and trade finance solutions.  

 

Our team is part of the Business Banking area and is a truly Nordic team of six highly skilled advisors based in Oslo, Copenhagen, Stockholm and Helsinki.

 

You will report to the Head of Transaction Banking Legal, Mikkel Skovgård Prehn, who is based in Copenhagen.  

 

As a Legal Counsel/ Senior Legal Counsel in Transaction Banking Legal, you will be part of Group Legal — around 300 professionals in the Nordic region, Poland and the US, including approximately 40 based in Oslo, Norway.

What you’ll be doing  

 

Main responsibilities in this role:

  • Serve as the single point of contact for all TxB related legal questions in Norway and act as a trusted legal advisor to the business units.  
  • Find legal solutions that enable Nordea to continue developing new and innovative products and services.  
  • Take ownership of assigned tasks, proactively manage deadlines and stakeholder expectations, and ensure advice is clear, aligned, and actionable.  
  • Mitigate legal risk.  
  • Collaborate on advocacy work, and local dispute resolution, including interactions with authorities and responses to supervisory activities.  
  • Cooperate with other Group Legal units and external advisors as needed, ensuring seamless collaboration and knowledge sharing.     

 

Who you are   

 

This role is a great fit if you enjoy being proactive and taking ownership.

 

You have an interest in technology and payment regulation, and you want to work with a combination of Norwegian and EU regulation.

 

You appreciate working with your Nordic colleagues and finding common Nordic solutions.    

 

Your background and skills include:  

  • A Norwegian master’s degree in law, with strong academic results  
  • Excellent language skills in Norwegian and English  
  • At least five years of relevant experience from a law firm, financial institution, fintech or public authority  
  • Solid experience with payment regulation and financial law  Ability and passion for finding solutions to complex problems  
  • Proven ability to work proactively and independently  Interest in new technology and a positive attitude toward change  
  • A real desire to embed the use of AI in your daily work  Strong ability to prioritize competing demands and work under pressure  
  • Good business understanding and strong stakeholdermanagement skills

 

It would be ideal if you also:  

  • Have experience with cash management and finance solutions
