Would you like to work on identity and access management for online banking? We are now looking for 3 Junior backend developers to further develop Nordea owned authentication solution and build a common Nordic solution to support different national authentication schemes.

About this opportunity

Welcome to the Authentication and Signing teams. We add value by developing Nordea identity provider and related services to authenticate and authorize our customers online. As Junior backend developer you’ll play a valuable role in building our future top quality solutions for digital banking.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Working with microservices and micro front-end patterns with a solid toolset like latest Spring Boot version, Java 8 and 11, soon 17 and front-end technologies like Angular and React. The solutions will be built cloud native, running with Docker and Kubernetes, monitored with Prometheus and Grafana, allowed to be run on-premise or in the cloud.
  • Getting familiar with cryptography, industry standard authentication protocols like Oauth2.0 and OpenID Connect, and EU level requirements like PSD2.


You’ll join an enthusiastic and dedicated group of colleagues who believe in Agile and DevOps ways of working for digital banking solutions.

This role is based in Oulu, Finland.

Your experience and background: 

  • Solid Java skills
  • Comfortable with software development tools, such as Git, Jenkins and IntelliJ Idea
  •  Familiar with  Test Driven Development (TDD) and unit testing frameworks
  • Previous work experience in software development
