About this opportunity

We are looking to in-house a lot of operational tasks currently outsourced to a service provider. This implies building a new digital platform for our BackOffice teams, where they can operate exceptions handling efficiently at a low operational cost. To achieve this, we are establishing a new committed team in Lisbon consisting of business specialists, business analysts and developers. As our new Software Engineer, you will take part in this, both as to forming the team culture, way of working and delivering new business capabilities with modern technology. 

You will join Operations Solutions which is responsible for delivering in-house IT development towards our Operations organization. This covers both application development, integration with external / internal systems, building domain APIs, reporting solutions etc., primarily based on our core system SimCorp Dimension. You will be responsible for developing new, innovative IT solutions covering the whole software delivery lifecycle together with our highly skilled C#/.NET developers, solution architects, product owners and other stakeholders.

The role is based in Lisbon with reference to the Copenhagen office. Welcome to a motivated team working in an agile development environment, in very close collaboration with the business. You will be part of an agile dev-ops team working mainly for Operations.

What you’ll be doing:


You will work the full stack and ensure that IT solutions are delivered effectively, on-time and on-quality. The tasks will include:

  • Development of APIs, event-driven data communication layers and back-end solutions  
  • Design and development of IT solutions based on a microservice-based solution architecture
  • Test-driven development deployed on our CI/CD pipeline running on Kubernetes 
  • Technical refactoring to new technologies 
  • Guide and govern our architectural principles towards our cloud journey
  • Working closely with business specialists and Business Analysts 
  • Ensuring ongoing business value and maintenance of the solutions after deployment (build it-run it-own it)

Your profile and background:

This position could be suitable for you as a Software Engineer with experience in the financial markets. You could be the right candidate, if you have a logical mind supported by a solid portfolio of IT skills. Our ideal candidate most likely has a Master's in computer science or engineering.

  • Expert level C
  • Expert level data-modelling and SQL optimizations
  • Application performance tuning 
  • Maybe experience with Python, PowerBI or KAFKA


We expect that you are curious, have the courage to try out new things and are a knowledge sharing team member. Corporate language is English, so you should have a good proficiency in written and spoken English.
