About this opportunity


We are looking for a Data Management Intern to join our Data Platform team. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is eager to gain experience with how data is managed, structured, and governed within a modern data ecosystem enhanced by AI capabilities. You will help implement data policies, coordinate data-related projects, and support efforts to improve data quality, access, and integration across our organization.

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Assist in coordinating projects related to data structure, policy enforcement, and integration processes
  • Help implement data management policies across teams, ensuring alignment with company standards
  • Support documentation efforts, including data flows, metadata standards, and access control definitions
  • Work closely with product managers, software engineers, and data governance stakeholders
  • Contribute to organizing and maintaining data assets using modern tools such as Snowflake, DataHub, dbt, and Kafka
  • Support the development of AI-powered search capabilities across our data assets
  • Help evaluate and test AI-based tools for data governance automation
    Monitor and track adoption of best practices in data management and security

 

This is a 1 year (paid) internship based in Oeiras.

To succeed in this role, we believe that you:

  • A recently completed or final-year degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • A basic understanding of data concepts like data flows, integrations, metadata, or access controls
  • Familiarity with or interest in modern data tools (e.g., Snowflake, dbt, Kafka, DataHub)
  • Some exposure to SQL and/or Python (academic or personal projects welcome)
  • Interest in AI/ML applications for data management, with basic understanding of concepts like NLP, classification, or anomaly detection
  • Strong organization, self-discipline, and communication skills
  • A proactive and critical mindset with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Nice to have (not required):

  • Interest or experience in data governance or regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR)
  • Participation in academic or personal projects involving data pipelines or system integrations
  • Experience with any AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn)
