We are seeking an one year intern to join our Limit Monitoring team within Trading & Operations function of Nordea Asset Management. This paid internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in investment monitoring and compliance while contributing to the safeguarding of Nordea funds and segregated investors. About this opportunity
You’ll join the Limit Monitoring team which is part of Trading & Operations, within the team we control that Nordea's portfolio managers comply with relevant legislation and regulations, as well as the specific investment guidelines which have been agreed to with clients or set out in fund prospectuses. We are responsible for controlling and escalating investment restrictions end-of-day on all mandates and funds handled through the Compliance Manager module of the asset management platform SimCorp Dimension.
What you’ll be doing:
- Conduct Daily Limits Monitoring of investment limits for both internal and external portfolio managers using SimCorp Dimension ensuring compliance with regulation (UCITS, US 1940 Act…) and guidelines across all asset classes.
- Become an integrated part of the daily routines.
- Escalation of breaches to investment restrictions to Client managers, portfolio managers and risk/compliance functions.
- Improve and automate existing processes.
The role is based in Oeiras.

The ideal candidate will have:
- Current enrolment or graduate in a university program in economics, finance, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- Enthusiasm for learning about financial markets and regulations.
- Basic understanding of investment principles (preferred but not required).
- Familiarity with data analysis tools and spreadsheets.
