Would you like to get in on the ground floor of building a new data platform? We are now looking for a Senior Data Engineer to accelerate our shift towards a Snowflake-based data platform.

About this opportunity

Welcome to our Platform & Data Engineering team. We add value by automating and implementing post-trade processes, reporting and business analytics. As a Senior Data Engineer, you’ll play a valuable role in building vital data pipelines and tooling to futureproof our Post-Trade business domain.

What you'll be doing:

•    Driving requirement gathering and finding the right problems to solve
•    Working across teams team to share knowledge, participate in communities and getting an outside in perspective on architectural decisions
•    Developing the business domain part of our NAM Data Platform, adding new data sources and transformations in response to new business requirements
•    Continually improving the platform, adopting new technologies and patterns as they become available
•    Building internal tooling to support NAM’s migration into the NAM data platform
•    Continue migrating the existing platform into our Lakehouse
•    Mentoring across the cross-functional team and in the competence team
•    Influence the business domain estate and engage in technology ADRs, tech standards and implementation guidelines

You’ll join a motivated, international, agile, cross-functional and end-to-end team . 
The role is based in Quinta da Fonte (Oeiras).

Your experience and background: 

• Experience working with Python in a data engineering capacity.
• Experience with SQL.

In addition, it is preferable if you have experience in any of the following:

• Building and deploying containerised applications on Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with Snowflake.
• Familiarity with DBT.
• Building DAGs with Apache Airflow.
• AWS or other public cloud experience.
• Infrastructure-as-code tooling such as Terraform.
• Experience working in end-to-end delivery teams.
• Experience with a Data Mesh strategy.
