Welcome to Fundamental Equities. We are part of Nordea Asset Management (NAM),  the centre of investment management in the Nordea Group and in the Asset & Wealth Management division. NAM has around 900 employees and more than 475 Nordic and international institutional clients.

In Fundamental Equities we manage international, fundamental, bottom up equity mandates with a significant focus on ESG integration. These mandates include long-only Emerging Markets, Asian, Global, European and Thematic high conviction portfolios. We have a highly disciplined investment process and take a long-term investment horizon.

The team is operating out of Copenhagen and Stockholm and is adding to our Singapore presence to address the growing needs of our Asian clients. Fundamental Equities are comprised of 30 investment professionals and the team is diverse with 14 nationalities and languages represented.

The selected Equity Analyst will work in the Fundamental Equities team that manages the Nordea Emerging STARS, Asian STARS and Emerging Ex China STARS equity strategies (combined AUM approx. USD 2.5bn), three long-term high conviction growth-oriented Emerging Markets equity strategies, which are a part of our STARS product suite with fully integrated ESG in the investment process.

What you’ll be doing:

• Conduct in-depth equity research in line with the Fundamental Equities Emerging Market team’s investment philosophy and process.
• Cover existing holdings as well as generating new investment cases, primarily in Asia.
• Work in close collaboration with the portfolio managers for Emerging STARS and Asian STARS.
• Contribute to a solid analytical platform, with other skilled analysts covering different sectors and regions, and in that way support the overall Fundamental Equities team with investment ideas.
• Incorporate ESG into the research process and equity valuation.
• Be part of our growing presence in Asia and represent the team in portfolio-related client communication in the region.  Trips to Copenhagen and within Asia are part of the job.

To succeed in this role, we believe that you have:

• Good analytical and stock-picking capabilities as well as a truly long-term investor mindset.
• Previous experience covering Asia ex Japan as a generalist is essential. Experience covering other regions within Emerging Markets would be a beneficial asset, but not critical.
• A true interest in equity investing and financial modelling and an enthusiasm for industries, understanding business models and what makes a good investment case.
• A motivation to integrate ESG aspects in the equity research process.
• Good teamwork skills and ability to work well in an intellectually stimulating  environment.
• A structured and focused mindset with the ability to work autonomously, as well as to collaborate effectively in an international team.
• Great English written and spoken communication skills.
   

Your experience and background:

• You have minimum 7 years’ experience as an equity research generalist covering Asia or Emerging Markets.
• You have a relevant Master’s degree or are a CFA charter holder.
