(Senior) Rates Strategist - SEK Focus

We are looking for a Senior Rates Strategist with a SEK focus to join our SEK Rates team and strengthen our Nordic rates offering, on a full-time employment agreement. 

About our team 

Meet the SEK Rates team. Our role is to provide liquidity, risk surface and bond inventory to the investor and issuer community active in the SEK Rates space. We also provide actionable insights on Swedish and Nordic interest rate markets to support our clients and internal stakeholders in making informed investment decisions. 

Our team is part of Nordea Markets and works at the centre of the Nordic fixed income franchise. We collaborate closely with all parts of the franchise to offer the best insight on SEK government bonds, swaps, money markets and covered bonds. The team is primarily based in Stockholm and is an integral part of our Nordic platform.

What you’ll be doing 

Main responsibilities in this role: 

• Develop and drive SEK rates strategy, with a clear focus on actionable and tradable ideas
• Generate relative value and macro-driven trade ideas across SEK government bonds, swaps and covered bonds
• Produce high-quality client-facing research, including market updates, publications and thematic analysis
• Act as a visible voice towards institutional clients, presenting views and discussing market developments
• Collaborate closely with trading, sales and economists to ensure relevance, timing and strong market positioning 

Who you are 

This is the right role for you if you are an experienced markets professional with a strong track record in rates and a genuine interest in Nordic financial markets. 

You combine analytical depth with commercial instinct, and you are motivated by seeing your ideas translated into client activity and market impact. You are comfortable taking ownership, forming a view and clearly communicating it to a broad set of stakeholders. 

Your background and skills include: 

• Strong experience within rates strategy, trading or research, ideally with exposure to SEK or Nordic markets
• Deep understanding of Riksbank policy framework, inflation dynamics and Swedish macroeconomics
• Good knowledge of SEK interest rate products, including government bonds, swaps, STIBOR and covered bonds
• Proven ability to develop and communicate investment ideas to clients or senior stakeholders
• Academic background in economics, finance or a related field
• Fluent in Swedish and English

It would be ideal if you also: 

• Bring an established client dialogue within Nordic fixed income markets
• Have experience from a client-facing Markets environment
• Are comfortable combining macro views with relative value frameworks
• Have Python or other programming skills that support quantitative analysis, data handling and research automation
