About this opportunity

Welcome to Fraud Management. We keep our customers safe by detecting and stopping fraudulent transactions, identifying fraudsters taking control over customers' accounts and thus reduce both our customers and Nordea's financial losses. We contribute to society by preventing fraudsters from getting money to fund other criminal activities.

In our team you will play a valuable role in directly stopping fraud and help genuine customers experience less friction in using Nordea's services and products. 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Work with our modern behavior focused fraud detection platform to identify fraudulent behavior in the customers interactions with our mobile and netbanks 
  • Quantify feedback from our colleagues on recent fraud trends and patterns and translate this to changes to the configuration of our fraud detection system through its visual programming language
  • Analyse customer sessions through the information contained in the communication between our back end systems and customers devices.
  • Learn how our different systems work and use your creativity to find ways of combining the systems capabilities
  • Use and improve our own tools and scripts to analyze data and automate repeating tasks


You’ll join a multi-disciplinary team located in Stockholm and Helsinki in an organization present in all Nordic capitals. The team is responsible for optimising Nordea's fraud detection and has a central role in Nordea's Fraud Management unit. We work closely with the fraud investigators investigating the alerts our systems generate, but also with business units owning the products and services and IT who help develop our platforms. 

The position is located in Stockholm or Helsinki

Your experience and background:  

  • Quantitative background
  • Proven track record within financial crime or risk domain


It would also be an advantage if you have:

  • Knowledge of web development and web applications
  • Understanding of network traffic, http, client-server etc.
  • Data analysis skills
  • IT and systems skills
