About this opportunity
You will join GBS Office Risk Reduction Plans, which is a team located in the largest business area in Nordea; Group Business Support (GBS). GBS drives risk reduction initiatives, as well as optimisation of our operational efficiencies, letting the Business Areas focus on what they do best, to serve our customers and drive income growth initiatives.
We are looking for self-driven risk manager to support and oversee a variety of Non-Financial risks and Projects risks connected to the Risk Reduction Plans Portfolio, working with all from daily risk management to audit and issue management – and maybe spiced up with coordination of our interactions with regulators.
In this role you will be in a central position in GBS Risk Reduction Plans, where being exposed to large programmes and senior management, where you can build network, grow and gain knowledge, and utilise hard as well as soft skills!
What you’ll be doing:
- Be the risk manager for Data Privacy Risk Reduction Program and join the PMO team
- Be on top of Nordea’s risk management framework and practices
- Drive and execute risk management according to Nordea frameworks
- Organize, plan, assess and monitor risk mitigation on Programme
- Keep oversight and support to workstreams in their risk management
- Provide business summaries to serve as decision materials for the programme(s) and our senior management
- Continuous alignment with 2LoD on topics like risk appetite, risk reporting etc.
- Provide advice to programme management and workstream leads in the individual programmes on risk related topics
- Collaborate and support the programme(s) and its stakeholders on the path to complete milestones and business deliverables according to risk appetite within internal and external deadlines
- Support the project management agenda and initiatives within in the programmes
- Collaborate with the colleagues across programmes and units in Nordea
- Proactively engage with stakeholders to build strong relationship
- Contribute to the overall development of risk management capabilities in the team
You’ll join the GBS Risk Reduction Plans team which are a cross Nordic team, with various project streams.
The role is based in Helsinki; Stockholm.

You could have a background as risk manager, auditor, compliance office, or similar. You understand the basics of risk management, non-financial risks, how risks are defined and described, and how risks and controls co-exists to set a tolerable risk level. You enjoy working cross-Nordic and across teams and stakeholders.

- Have good communication, presentation and facilitation skills
- Are a solid team player with high integrity
Your experience and background:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in risk management (required)
- Experience in facilitating QRAs
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, i.e. Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Experience in Nordea’s risk management framework and tools (an advantage, but not required)
- Written and spoken English on a superior level is required
- Self-drive and proactive personality
- Have a relevant Master's or Bachelor's degree
