Senior Economist to Nordea Macro Research

We are looking for a senior economist to join our Macro Research team in Stockholm. The team is responsible for conducting research on the Swedish economy and providing the bank, our customers and the society at large with insights, forecasts and ideas on key economic topics.


About this opportunity


You will play a key role in developing Nordea’s research on the Swedish economy. Working closely with our Chief Analyst, Chief Economist, and other colleagues, you are expected to contribute with independent analysis as well as being a sparring partner who can challenge ideas and forecast, and as a result help sharpening our research even further. 


What you’ll be doing 

  • Be part of Nordea’s macro research team, physically located at our Markets trading floor in Stockholm
  • Be responsible for and conducting forecasts on parts of the Swedish economy
  • Write and proactively initiate reports and thematic articles on relevant topics
  • Take a key role in forming our research and forecasts, with particular emphasis on monetary policy and the Riksbank
  • Present forecasts and analyses internally, to customers and occasionally to media

 

Who you are 

 

We believe this is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in practical analysis work at a reputable institution to join a team where your ideas and insights will reach out instantly and with high impact among corporates, institutions and media in Sweden.


Your background and skills include:

  • University degree in economics (PhD a plus)
  • Solid experience from analytical and forecasting work related to Swedish economy
  • Deep understanding of, and strong interest in monetary policy and central bank dynamics
  • Fluency in Swedish and English, and excellent verbal and written communication skills
