About our team
You will join a highly professional and dedicated team with a large network across the bank and have excellent opportunities for personal and professional development. We have a very experienced and helpful team working on a broad platform. This gives unique opportunities to frequently learn new things. Besides the 4 scrum teams developing the platform, there are a development support team and a maintenance team. This way the development teams can focus on delivering high quality solutions.
What you’ll be doing
Welcome to the Securities Trading Operations technology service domain. We add value by providing excellent software solutions supporting post-trade business processes. As the Senior IT Developer you’ll play a valuable role in taking part of an exciting and ambitious transformation journey towards a modern, resilient target state. You will grow as a Calypso platform expert and and deliver superior value to the bank.
Main responsibilities in this role:
- Designing and coding robust, well-tested, clean solutions using latest tools and technology
- Develop in and around a complex off the shelf platform Calypso – creating code, which smoothly integrates with the Calypso engine
- Perform code reviews and work with developer colleagues in continuously improving quality and clean coding practices
- Closely collaborate with product owners, business experts, IT Analysts, Developers, testers and Scrum Masters and take an active part in agile ceremonies
- Participating in our technology communities - dev days, innovation sprints and day to day
The role is based in Stockholm (Sweden), and will require regular office presence.
Who you are
Your experience and background:
- Knowledge of Calypso platform, preferably supporting settlement of securities (bonds, equities)
- Good expertise in software development in Java supported by 6+ years of experience
- Understand how to define and design good test coverage including negative tests
- Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or similar.
- Practical experience in using some of tools and technologies below – or similar:
- Docker, Kubernetes or OpenShift
- Git, BitBucket, SonarQube, Splunk, Bamboo
- Confluence, Jira
- Experience or desire to learn to build and maintain integrations with off-the-shelf software in the enterprise setup.
- Good interpersonal skills, able to deal with technical and business stakeholders
- Creative, analytical, curious, proactive and solution-oriented
- Fluency in English, as it is used on a daily basis
You will work with the Calypso application and implementation of settlement for bonds and equities. This is an opportunity to gain first hand insight how capital markets function, and to be part of significant scale up of Calypso implementation at Nordea.
