We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to manage and oversee a multiple key Financial Crime projects as part of our multi-year strategic risk reduction plans.

 

The unit is part of the Banks Group Financial Crime Prevention organization, where we create and maintain insightful and impactful best practices to ensure we are able to manage, monitor and mitigate financial crime risks in the whole of Nordea.

 

You will have a cross-functional role that spans several segments and business areas in defining and delivering project delivery strategy and governance, and bringing delivery plans together from multiple projects. You will be part of the Group Financial Crime Applications and Data team working collaboratively with other Financial Crime, Business and Technology Teams.

About this opportunity

 

Welcome to the Financial Crime Applications & Data team. We add value by understanding the opportunities and risks posed from a Financial Crime Data and Application perspective, and provide strategic expertise, guidance and leadership to ensure our people, processes and technology are at the forefront of Financial Crime Prevention for Nordea. As the Senior Project Manager, you’ll play a valuable role in leading, organizing, designing and delivering of a critical Financial Crime project for the Financial Crime Domain.

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Work with other Project Managers, Product Owners and SMEs to gather detail on their collective deliveries and maintaining a single oversight of all of the plans for the entire function as part of the multi-year risk reduction programme.
  • Be responsible for the project methodology and work practices for this and associated projects, to ensure best possible performance, quality and cost to deliver and maintain. 
  • Lead and provide key updates into the relevant Steering groups, Working Groups and governance forums, ensuring adequate pre-socialisation and buy in of key stakeholders prior to these forums.
  • Support multiple projects, such as Financial Crime compliance with Data Privacy/GDPR, ensuring the relevant project governance is setup, plans created and maintained with key stakeholder involvement and input.
  • Ensure Nordea wide change governance is followed with required artefacts being completed on time and to good quality, as part of Nordea’s Delivery Guide Principles.
  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders in the Business, Technology, Architecture and other Financial Crime teams to drive a common set of project objectives and deliverables, ensuring ownership and transparency of relevant tasks.
  • Working with teams and projects in both a SAFe Agile and more traditional waterfall methodology of project delivery.

 

You’ll join a very highly skilled, passionate and forward thinking financial crime prevention team that has a key common drive to protect Nordea, its customers and society at large. The role is based in Helsinki, Oslo, Stockholm, Tallinn, Warszawa, Łódź, Gdynia or Gdańsk.

  • Exercise strong stakeholder skills when you liaise with teams across Group Financial Crime Prevention, Technology and the Business areas to bring coherent assessment and delivery plans together, and manage intricate dependencies. 
  • Keep stakeholders engaged, ensuring any risk to timelines is identified and flagged at the earliest opportunity.
  • Are an exceptional communicator establishing clear roles & responsibilities across the full Nordea organisation to secure accountability and responsibility throughout the Bank.
  • Are able to pull together cohesive and detailed plans with facts and evidence to support proposed timelines and managed dependencies.

 

Your experience and background: 

  • At least 3 years' experience in a senior programme or project manager role ideally within a Financial Institution or similar.
  • You have defined and delivered multi-year, large scale programmes with impacts on IT systems, operational processes, procedures and people.
  • Strong project management skills and relevant experience of tools to manage effective projects.
  • Leadership experience managing and motivating high performing teams with subject matter individuals.
  • Experience in Financial Crime Prevention, GDPR or in Financial Crime Transformation programmes is preferred but not essential.
