We are looking for Senior Strategic Advisor to play a key role in shaping Nordea’s Technology strategy and AI. This is an opportunity to grow and learn in a fast-paced environment in the center of Nordea’s Technology development and implementation.

About our team

Group Technology Strategy and AI is responsible for development and execution of Nordea’s technology strategy, and is a Center of Excellence for AI Nordea’s AI value creation and execution. 

In our team Tech Strategy & Enablement, we are looking for a highly motivated technology strategist who thrives in complexity, enjoys connecting the dots across a large organisation, and can translate long-term ambitions into practical outcomes. You will work across Group Technology, Architecture, Engineering, Infrastructure, Security, Data, Risk, Finance and business stakeholders to help shape Nordea’s technology strategy, support major transformation initiatives, provide strategic guidance on modernisation and investment decisions, assess emerging technology trends and regulatory developments, and produce executive-level material for senior leadership

What you’ll be doing:

• Shape and evolve Nordea’s technology strategy in collaboration with stakeholders across Group Technology and the wider organisation.
• Drive strategic initiatives and transformation programs across areas such as modernisation, cloud, engineering, resilience, cybersecurity and emerging technologies.
• Develop executive-level analyses, recommendations and decision material for senior leadership and governance forums.
• Provide strategic guidance and constructive challenge on technology investments to ensure alignment with Nordea’s long-term objectives.
• Monitor market, technology and regulatory developments, translating insights into actionable strategic recommendations.
• Build strong relationships across technology, architecture, finance, risk and business teams to drive alignment and execution.
• Help turn strategic ambitions into clear roadmaps, measurable outcomes and tangible business value.

You will work in an experienced and ambitious team with backgrounds from top-tier consultancies and leading Nordic corporates, providing exposure, mentorship, and the opportunity to grow rapidly as a professional. The preferred location for the role is Helsinki or Stockholm – and we like to go to the office 4 times a week. Or in Poland (Tri-City, Warsaw) where we follow 60 % onsite hybrid model of working.

You combine strategic thinking with a practical understanding of technology and can operate confidently at the intersection of technology strategy and execution. You are not expected to be a developer, but you bring enough technical knowledge to engage with complex enterprise topics, ask the right questions, and turn big-picture thinking into clear direction and action.

• Ownership and independence: You are ready to take ownership of your work, operate independently across technology and business teams, and move priorities forward in a large, complex organisation.
• Strategic thinking: You can see the bigger picture, structure complex or ambiguous topics, define priorities, and translate analysis into clear recommendations and practical actions.
• You have experience working with technology strategy, transformation, or execution topics in a large enterprise, consultancy, technology company, financial institution, or multinational organisation.
• You understand technology fundamentals and can engage credibly in discussions on significant technology topics. You do not need to be a developer, but you can connect technical considerations with strategic and business priorities.
• You are organised and reliable, able to manage multiple workstreams, dependencies, and follow-ups in a matrix environment where ownership may be shared and authority indirect.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills: You can explain complex topics clearly, build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, and prepare concise, high-quality presentations and decision-support materials suitable for Group Leadership Team discussions.
• Collaborative approach: You work constructively with different personalities and perspectives, contribute both analytical thinking and hands-on support, and build effective partnerships across organisational boundaries.
• You communicate confidently and professionally in English, both in writing and in discussions.

It would be ideal if you also have: 

• Exposure to AI-driven transformation: Experience working with AI topics, portfolios, or large-scale change programmes would be an advantage, but this can also be developed in the role.
• Previous experience from finance industry.
• Knowledge of another Nordic language: This is considered a plus but is not required.
• Relevant Master’s degree in Information Technology, IT project management, computer science or business.
