Senior Sustainability Business Analyst

Are you driven by the ambition to shape a more sustainable future within the banking industry? We’re pleased to invite applications for a Senior Sustainability Business Analyst to join our dynamic team. This is an opportunity for an experienced professional to work alongside senior colleagues to conduct in-depth sector analysis and deliver expert insights that will steer our own and our customers’ journey towards a low-carbon and sustainable economy.

As the Senior Sustainability Business Analyst, you would be an integral part of our Nordic Sustainability Business Analysis team, delivering sustainability analysis and advice that is  used both internally in Nordea and for our customers. You will work closely with colleagues across business units, particularly in Large Corporates and Institutions, Business Banking, Group Sustainability, and other group functions.

About this opportunity

The LC&I Sustainability team is a dedicated group of sustainability professionals playing a central role in coordinating major activities and facilitating the implementation of high-impact sustainability initiatives that advance the bank’s strategic objectives and sustainability targets. By leading in sustainability and being experts within our key sectors, we also advice and empower our customers to transition toward more sustainable business models. To further accelerate our efforts, we are seeking a senior team member to contribute to this important work.

As the Senior Sustainability Business Analyst, you will be responsible for conducting analysis of some our most material sectors and topics, providing guidance on both current and future sustainability-related risks and opportunities and be responsible for providing material and input to customer dialogues. While prior knowledge of sectors such as shipping, real estate, construction, energy, or supply chain (including transportation, materials, and manufacturing) is advantageous, it is not a strict requirement.

This is a permanent position with start date as soon as possible. The job is based in Stockholm, Sweden or Copenhagen, Denmark.

Who you are

At Nordea, we foster a culture defined by customer focus, cross-functional collaboration, and a strong sense of ownership. Guided by our core values—Collaboration, Ownership, Passion, and Courage—we are committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity and performance. By aligning our actions with these principles, we continue to build a robust organisational culture and a solid business foundation.

Your experience and background:

  • At least 4 years of relevant professional experience
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, written and oral
  • Experience from customer facing positions
  • Fluent in English and Swedish or Danish
  • Goal-oriented and positive, with a proactive and self-driven mindset
  • Enjoys personal responsibility, as well as being part of a team
  • Strong academic record, ideally with a degree in sustainability, finance, law or a related field

To succeed in this role, we believe that you:

  • Possess a strong interest and expertise in sustainability
  • Are familiar with regulatory standards and reporting requirements within sustainability and/or specific sectors
  • Demonstrate strong ability to conduct data analysis and research independently
  • Are comfortable managing multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously, keeping deadlines and priorities in check
  • Possess strong communication skills—able to convey complex sustainability concepts clearly to a wide audience
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in both qualitative and quantitative analysis
  • Embrace continuous learning and adapt quickly to new developments in the ESG field

If this sounds like you, we look forward to hearing from you!
