Nordea, as an IRB bank, is on a journey to completely revamp its IT landscape regarding the calculation and reporting of capital numbers, to be used for regulatory reporting purposes as well as for internal business steering. This multi-year strategic initiative, aims to enhance the way we source data, calculate capital and ultimately report to various stakeholders in the aftermath of Basel IV.

About our team
We are looking for a person with functional knowledge in the bank capitalization (e.g. CRR, Basel IV) who is keen on combining their knowledge into the technical build of our new capital (REA/RWA) calculations engine. This will become Nordea’s official engine to be used for group and entity level calculations, and will be used for regulatory and business reporting incl. pricing applications. The position comes with many degrees of freedom to create the new solution and we are hence looking for proactive and innovative people, seeking to challenge current systems and ways of working. You will be working closely with IT and Business stakeholder to ingest functional and non-functional requirements into the build. Expert level programming skills are not be required, but previous exposure to programming is advantageous and will enable better solutioning and communication with the team.
This permanent and full-time position is located in either Helsinki, Stockholm or Poland (Warsaw, Lodz, Tri-city) with partial remote-work possibility.

Who you are
The ideal candidate would have:
- Worked with bank capitalization, knowing the rules and requirements imposed on regulated Banks
- An understanding of financial instruments and their credit risk foot-print
- Proven experience in working with large data sets and databases
- Worked together with IT organisations and have an understanding of development practices and technologies
- Affiliation with Snowflake, Oracle, Python incl. C++/Rust libraries, Dockerized solutions and a decoupled design with interfaces. Expert level knowledge nor full coverage not required
- The ability to consider multiple use cases and incorporating theses to the design of the build
- Feel pride and passion to deliver on promises and even exceed targets
- Very good communication and cooperation skills with international stakeholders
- Excellent command of English language (written and spoken)
