Strategy Manager, Business Banking

Stockholm, SE, 111 46 København S, DK, 2300 Helsinki, FI, 00500 Oslo, NO, 0368

Job ID: 3918

We are looking for a Strategy Manager to play a central role in shaping and executing the future strategic agenda of Nordea Business Banking. You will drive development of strategic direction and support execution of high-impact initiatives, working closely with the Business Banking leadership team.

Business Banking provides banking and advisory services to small and medium-sized corporate customers across the Nordics. The business also includes Transaction Banking (payments and international trade services) and Nordea Finance (asset-based lending).

This is an opportunity to operate at the heart of one of Nordea’s key growth areas – contributing directly to strategic priorities and tangible business outcomes.

About our team

Welcome to the Business Banking Strategy team within the Business Banking Office. We are a small, high-performing team responsible for driving strategic development and execution across Business Banking.

We shape priorities, translate strategy into actionable plans, and support decision-making through data-driven insights. Our work spans from defining long-term direction to driving execution of key initiatives across products, segments, and countries.

You will work closely with senior stakeholders across Business Banking and the Group, contributing to decisions and initiatives that have a real and measurable impact on the business and Nordic society at large.

What you will be doing:

  • Shape strategic direction: Analyse market, customer and competitor dynamics, and translate insights into clear strategic recommendations
  • Drive strategic initiatives: Contribute to the design, scoping and execution of high-impact initiatives, working closely with business leaders to ensure delivery
  • Drive data-driven insights: Work hands-on with large and complex datasets to generate insights that inform strategic decisions and prioritisation
  • Enable performance management: Develop analytical frameworks, KPIs and follow-up structures to track progress and support decision-making
  • Work across the organisation: Collaborate with product, segment, country and functional teams to structure and align strategic priorities
  • Support executive decision-making: Prepare high-quality materials and insights for senior management discussions

Who you are

You are driven by curiosity, problem solving, and making an impact. You thrive in fast-paced and unstructured environments, and you are motivated by turning complex analysis into clear insights and actionable outcomes. You combine strong analytical capabilities with a pragmatic, hands-on mindset and a willingness to take ownership and drive results.

Your background and skills include:

  • Strong track record: Experience from strategy, business development or corporate development roles, ideally with 3–5 years from top-tier management consulting, strategy functions in financial institutions, or similar high-performing environments
  • Problem solving & insight: Proven ability to structure and solve complex strategic problems, combining quantitative and qualitative analysis into clear recommendations
  • Execution mindset: Ability to move from analysis to action, supporting implementation and driving tangible outcomes
  • Financial services exposure: Familiarity with banking, financial services or digital business models is an advantage
  • Data & analytics capability: Comfortable working with large datasets and applying data-driven analysis to business problems. Experience with tools such as SQL, Python or similar is an advantage
  • Collaboration & ownership: Proactive and collaborative, comfortable working with senior stakeholders across a complex organisation
  • Executive communication: Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distil complex topics into clear messages for senior audiences

The team and company working language is English – we expect fluency in English at a professional level, while Nordic languages are a plus but not a requirement.

What we offer

  • A central role in shaping and executing the strategy of one of Nordea’s key business areas
  • Close collaboration with senior leaders on high-priority topics
  • A high-performing team environment with strong ownership and impact
  • An opportunity to build your career at the intersection of strategy, execution and transformation
