Student Analyst, Group Treasury Nordea

Stockholm, SE, 111 46

Job ID: 5497

We are looking for a committed, analytical and curious student to join Group Treasury in Stockholm. In this role, you will support a range of Treasury activities, with a particular focus on Significant Risk Transfer (SRT) transactions—an important area in the bank’s capital and risk management.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a highly professional and fast-paced environment, work closely with experienced colleagues and develop a strong understanding of securitisation and how Treasury contributes to the bank’s funding, liquidity and overall financial performance.

About our team

Meet Group Treasury. We play a central role in managing Nordea’s balance sheet, funding, liquidity, capital and market risk. We work across a broad range of topics and collaborate closely with colleagues in Finance, Markets, Risk, Business Areas and other key functions across the bank and with external banks and counterparties.

We offer an exciting “learning journey” with exposure to financial markets, balance sheet management, funding and liquidity topics, quantitative analysis and regulatory development. You will work in a highly professional environment with strong opportunities to build a broad understanding of how Treasury supports the bank, while also gaining hands-on experience and analytical problem-solving.

Collaboration. Ownership. Passion. Courage. These are the values that guide us in how we work and how we make decisions – and that we imagine you share with us.

Main responsibilities in this role:

  • Support analyses and materials across a broad range of Treasury activities, including funding, liquidity, capital, market risk and balance sheet topics
  • Assist with managing the portfolio of structured transactions and related reporting
  • Contribute to financial structuring work, including preparation of analysis, presentations and decision material
  • Help develop and improve models, tools and reporting used in the team’s daily work
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Treasury and other functions on ad hoc analyses and projects

Who you are

You likely have 1-3 years left until completing your master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field. You combine strong analytical skills with curiosity, attention to detail and a structured way of working. You are comfortable taking initiative, while also collaborating closely with others and learning from more experienced colleagues.

Your background and skills include:

  • You are structured, proactive, flexible and comfortable working in a dynamic environment
  • You have a solid interest in financial markets, treasury and balance sheet management
  • You are comfortable working with numbers and structured problem-solving
  • You take ownership of your work and collaborate effectively, both independently and as part of a team
  • You are comfortable working with large and complex datasets and using quantitative analysis, coding, digital tools such as Excel and PowerPoint, and emerging AI tools to generate clear insights and decision material
  • You have strong written and spoken English skills

The position is located in Stockholm and we estimate approximately 20 working hours per week.
