About our team

 

Welcome to the Retail Payments. We add value by setting the commercial direction for consumer cards, wallets and account-to-account payments and enabling seamless everyday payments to Nordea’s personal banking and private banking customers throughout the Nordics. You will be part of a Nordic team, Retail Payments in Transaction Banking and report to the Head of Retail Payments. Transaction Banking is a Product Responsible Unit with approx. 750 employees in the Nordics, Estonia and Poland. Transaction Banking is responsible for setting the strategic direction and execution of strategic initiatives for Nordea’s Payments offering and products, including Cash Management, Cards and Trade. Payments sit at the very heart of our strategy – and this role puts you right where the action is.

What you’ll be doing

 

Cards and the consumer payments industry is experiencing a rapid transformation driven by technological advancements and changing consumer preferences. As our student, you’ll play a vital role in supporting colleagues with activities and analysis to ensure we have a strong consumer cards offering that is top of mind with best in market sales development together with high customer and stakeholder satisfaction.   

 

You will gain hands-on experience within cards & retail payments, exposure to real business decisions and build a foundation in commercial and strategic thinking.

 

Your tasks will include: 

  • Assisting with reporting on consumer cards portfolio performance
  • Assisting with the creation and updating of presentations, primarily in PowerPoint
  • Assisting with bespoke cards portfolio analysis
  • Working within the field of consumer cards and consumer payments, helping us to develop and improve our tools, processes and decision making.
  • Be expected to take care of administrative tasks in connection with internal and external events
     

You’ll join a diverse, multi-faceted and passionate team. We expect you to grow in your role, gradually taking over more responsibility in the team. The role is based in Stockholm and we would like you to work up to 10 (and more during vacation periods) hours a week.

Your background and skills include:

  • Ongoing university or higher education studies in business, finance, marketing or a related field with planned studies for the coming years – that can combine your studies and supporting us in a flexible manner
  • Professional skills in Swedish and in English, both spoken and written
  • Strong analytical approach, capability to work independently and work with a high level of responsibility
  • Experience in Powerpoint and Excel

 

It would be ideal if you also had:

  • Knowledge of Banking products for retail customers
