About this opportunity

 

Group Procurement owns and execute the full Source to Pay process for the Bank. Group Procurement is part of Group Finance with reference to the Group CFO. We contribute to the Bank’s cost, compliance and sustainability agenda and play an important role to reach the targets of the Bank’s 2025 strategy. We engage with our stakeholders to ensure an aligned and strategic view across the Group on how to source the different groups of commodities and manage the sourcing pipeline. In essence, we are accountable for ensuring that all agreements that are entered into are commercially competitive while safeguarding that risk and regulatory requirements are managed.

 

This is an opportunity for you to work as the value-adding bridge between the internal needs of Nordea business stakeholders and the external supplier market, thereby contributing to the competitiveness and financial targets of Nordea. You will lead a team who is responsible for all data licensing for Nordea group and category sourcing for Nordea’s Large Corporates & Institutions (LC&I) and Asset & Wealth Management (AWM) businesses.

 

The day to day activities of team consists of business advisory, active management of data licensing related commercial needs, executing tenders and re-negotiations with external suppliers ranging from low value/low risk engagements to the largest mission critical partnerships in Nordea. Your working environment will be dynamic, fun and fast-paced with colleagues across a variety of countries and banking areas.

 

You will be part of the Sourcing management team and cooperate closely with other teams to achieve the goals of Sourcing and Group Procurement. You will report into Head of Sourcing  located in Finland.

 

Your future responsibilities

 

You will lead the Sourcing Unit of 8 highly skilled sourcing managers located in Denmark, Poland, Sweden, and Finland. You will also manage key senior stakeholders and lead the largest and most complex supplier negotiations while ensuring negotiation capabilities are developed and maintained throughout the team.

 

In brief, you will:

  • Ensure that all Nordea Groups current and future data licensing needs are fulfilled and commercially optimized
  • Build longer term category strategies together with key business stakeholders
  • Manage the sourcing project pipeline, including opportunity identification in cooperation with business stakeholders and other procurement teams
  • Cooperate closely with market data teams within Nordea
  • Lead a great team of highly skilled sourcing managers, providing them with continuous capability building and development, performance management, setting the direction, and acting as a role model for our values

 

You will be measured on savings and value generation according to our defined methodology. In addition, you will be measured on stakeholder feedback and process compliance. The role is based in Copenhagen; Helsinki; Stockholm.

To succeed in this role, you have a superior understanding of data licensing in financial services industry, and sourcing and contracting processes, from managing efficient operation for low value/low risk engagements to leading the largest and most complex engagements.

 

This means that you master complexity behind data usage, commercial models, pricing schemes, business case management, TCO/TVO etc., and you have a proven track record as a negotiator on strategic and tactical level.

 

You have a solid understanding of risk & compliance, e.g. third party risk management including information security, business continuity, sustainability etc., and you are able to implement regulations into operational procedures. Finally, it is crucial that you are able to manage your stakeholders efficiently at all organisational levels up to the senior leadership.

 

Your profile and background:

  • 10+ years of data licensing and procurement experience
  • Experience in managing data licensing for financial services, including regulatory project experience (e.g. MiFID, FRTB etc) and risk/audit experience.
  • Good understanding of corporate and institutional banking business and related supplier ecosystem
  • Solid stakeholder management skills at all levels, including senior management
  • Excellent understanding of end-to-end procurement processes, in particular sourcing and contracting processes, and being fluent in the legal aspects of supplier contracts Experience in driving business process outsourcing projects is an advantage
  • Superior negotiation skills both from a theoretical perspective and a proven track record of successfully applying the skill in complex negotiations
  • Solid understanding of risk and compliance, including third party risk management, hereunder information security, business continuity, sustainability, financial crime, data privacy etc.
  • Exceptionally strong commercial acumen and ability to think out-of-the-box to achieve our ambitious financial targets
  • Performance mindset and a proven track record of driving a performance culture in a team
  • Experience in international leadership roles or working in an international company with diverse cultures and daily interaction with many different nationalities will be seen as an advantage
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken
  • Degree in Law, Business, Economics, Operations, Supply Chain Management or similar
