In Automation, Data & Change we are supporting the move from manual optimization and processes in Operations to data-driven customer service delivery across the bank. For this journey, we are now looking for a Head of Operations Capabilities.

About this opportunity 

 

First and foremost welcome to the Automation, Data & Change team. We are part of GBS Operations, which is responsible for running all of Nordea’s customer related operations and thereby supporting the Business Areas in delivering products and services to our customers.

 

As the Head of Operations Capabilities, you will play a vital role in enabling Operations develop and drive its strategic change agenda supporting Nordea’s priorities. The purpose of the role is to create the centre point within Automation, Data & Change to work with the Head of Operations and Operations Executive Management to develop and deliver strategic capabilities & priorities that by nature have a high profile across the organization.


As the Head of Operations Capabilities you will:

  • Define & implement customer focused process engineering & agile inspired ways of working across Operations that supports service line & Operations strategies
  • Drive & implement capacity, production planning & efficiency understanding ways of working across Operations that measure, improve & mature operational responsiveness in meeting production & efficiency demands
  • With the Head of Operations, Operations Executive Leadership team and other key stakeholders, develop and deliver the Operations strategic plan
  • Execute strategic initiatives through development of work plans, gathering and generating relevant data, drive analyses and development of actionable recommendations
  • Evaluate overall performance against targets and drive adjustments as necessary. Establish KPIs that measure performance against and determine the effectiveness of implemented strategic capabilities 
  • Drive & implement common portfolio management ways of working across Operations, ultimately ensuring a consistent approach to select, prioritize, resource & risk manage, monitor and track benefits for all Operations projects & initiatives. Through data be able to clearly articulate value delivered back to business
  • Own & lead cross Operations projects and initiatives and represent Operations / deliver required Operations activities towards Group projects & programs
  • Have the overall responsibility for people leadership of a unit
  • Ensure collaboration within and across functional teams and capabilities
  • Act as a thought leader to guide, motivate and inspire colleagues in Automation, Data & Change & Operations
  • Live values to grow and develop all team members 
  • Proactively manage senior stakeholder expectations across Automation, Data & Change, Operations, Business Areas & Group Functions

 

The role can be based in Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Estonia or Poland.

  • Proven ability to manage & resolve conflicting priorities across various senior stakeholders
  • Ability to manage challenging conversations e.g., performance assessment, promotions, sanctions and dismissals etc.

 

Your experience and background:

  • Strong track record of successfully building & delivering transformational change in financial services or other similar industry covering strategy implementation, process management, operational excellence & portfolio management
  • Demonstrable strong people leadership and stakeholder management skills
