Controller in Financial Reporting Tools

Would you like to combine knowledge of financial reporting and technical skills? We are now looking for a Controller to be part of financial reporting process and to build solutions utilising knowledge of financial reporting and instruments.

About this opportunity

Welcome to the Financial Reporting Tools team. We add value by participating to the financial reporting process and by creating and maintaining technical solutions and processes so that top quality financial reporting can be performed.  As Controller you’ll play a valuable role in improving processes and enabling the finance domain to reach the next level.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Being part of the monthly closing process of financial reporting in Nordea
  • Supporting the main processes of the unit i.e. controlling, reporting and analysing by participating in the reporting process and by implementing processes and tools across teams
  • Driving the design, development and implementation of various reporting solutions and related controls
  • Helping to develop value adding practical solutions to improve both the efficiency and quality of our reporting
  • Running controls and validation checks related to financial statements
  • Analysing profit and loss and balance sheet drivers and various other elements relevant for the unit.
  • Engaging stakeholders with regular and ad-hoc queries, including internal and external auditors


You’ll join a diverse team of 11 specialist with various skills and backgrounds.

The role is based in Warsaw or Łódź.

To succeed in this role, we believe that you:

  • Are proactive and willing to speak up, and propose initiatives and ideas based upon your ability to analyse complex issues
  • Have knowledge of or willingness to learn various programming languages e.g. VBA, SQL and Python is an advantage
  • Have some understanding of financial statements, financial products and financial markets is considered an advantage
  • Have strong communication skills and be fluent in written and spoken English.


Your experience and background: 

  • You should have a relevant degree in the fields of computer science, business, economics, finance or accounting, and hope the ideal candidate to have some relevant work experience
