Enterprise Architecture, Strategizing, Investment Portfolio Management, Governance

Would you like to help Nordea’s executive leaders get in control over investments and return on investments in IT Change and Run? We are now looking for an Enterprise Architect for a small team that will own and manage group level artefacts used to provide transparency into the state of affairs of our IT estate and investment needs – popularly called Bank on a Page.

At Nordea, we know our customers’ needs are changing – and we’re deeply committed to meeting them with the financial solutions of tomorrow. We’re adopting a federated approach with some group level anchoring and we are creating an agile environment where we’re harnessing the power of technology – one where you can make an impact. So bring your skills, ideas and unique background. With us, you’ll find plenty of opportunities to grow and make your mark on something bigger.

About this opportunity

Welcome to Group Architecture. We add value by defining target, transition, and solution architectures for investments in IT Change and Run, and by providing architectural governance to ensure that we deliver as agreed or that we adjust agreements. As the Enterprise Architect on group level, you’ll play a valuable role in ensuring transparency into the why and how of investments in IT Change and Run, and by federating, providing guardrails for, and identifying dependencies between individual change portfolios and initiatives. Ultimately you will help prevent sub-optimization and enable simplification and increased business agility necessary to keep up with new market entrants in the financial sector.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Manage a group-level Functional reference model (based on BIAN Service Domains)
  • Collaborate with other architects from 12 business change and run portfolios and 5 tech for tech areas with a federated approach with just enough central governance and guardrails to ensure sufficient interoperability between portfolio solution deliveries
  • Uplift maturity across and collaborate on improving model content with the 12 business portfolios and 5 tech of tech areas to enable data driven decision making
  • Provide executive management reporting and heatmaps reflecting the state of affairs and gaps relative to strategic objectives and key results across the 12 business portfolios and 5 tech for tech areas

You’ll join an international work environment in a fast paced and highly regulated business where architecture has been consolidated into a group level function to provide highly valued executive decision making support and governance. The role is based in Gdańsk; Gdynia; Oslo; Stockholm; Warszawa.

Who you are

Collaboration. Ownership. Passion. Courage. These are the values that guide us in being at our best – and that we imagine you share with us.

To succeed in this role, we believe that you are:

  • Self-driven and highly organized with a passion for managing complex models
  • Team and collaboration oriented where the best idea wins regardless of who came up with it
  • Responsible and persistent in owning the quality and results also when it is not easy

Your experience and background:

  • Enterprise (IT and Business) Architecture experience in a complex and preferrable regulated enterprise
  • Modelling (functional/capability, data, application) experience using UML, TOGAF, ArchiMate or similar techniques
  • Collaboration across diverse teams on creating shared (reference architecture) content in a federated model
