We are now looking for a new team member, a Senior Compliance Officer to join Compliance Testing and Monitoring team in Group Compliance and contribute to the different tasks within the oversight framework.


In Compliance Testing and Monitoring we are enabling the Nordea Bank Board of Directors and senior management to manage their accountabilities for compliance risks by providing both verified assessments of risk mitigating actions and controls in place and facilitate reporting of risk measurements. Our activities also enable management’s fact based decision making on compliance risks. In addition we give support, advice and training on monitoring to our colleagues in different business area compliance units.


About this opportunity


As the Senior Compliance Officer in our team, you will be offered an interesting role with a variety of tasks. Primarily you will be involved with reviewing, enhancing and driving the implementation of the Risk Appetite Framework for Compliance Risks. You may also be asked to support the broader team by supporting specific testing or monitoring activities.


Examples or your tasks are:


  • Developing, enhancing and maintaining the risk limit statements and associated metrics for Compliance Risk.
  • Analyse existing metrics, reviewing their suitability and lead the development of new metrics to continue to assess the Compliance Risks and support risk management decision making.
  • Work closely with BA/GF/LE Compliance teams and Policy Framework Owners to develop metrics suitable for their area of coverage and cascade these to their respective 1LoD partners.
  • Responding to stakeholder questions on the methodology and processes, such as inquiries from regulators, auditors or other parties etc.
  • Support the broader Testing and Monitoring team as needed.
  • Communication with different stakeholders.


You can be located in any location across the Nordics, Estonia or Poland.

We believe that you have at least five years of work experience, preferably from the financial sector. You also have experience within compliance, risk, or internal audit and you have in your previous positions worked with processes for measuring and reporting compliance risks.


When it comes to your personal competencies, you:


  • Have excellent communication skills, also in English language, and find it easy to build relationships at all levels.
  • Have experience in Compliance Advisory, Testing and Monitoring or other Compliance analysis and reporting experience.
  • Take initiative and ownership of your work and are comfortable working in an environment with many changes and tight deadlines.
  • Have a high degree of integrity and take responsibility for developing your own skills.
  • Are known for your analytical thinking, data analysis capabilities and structured approach with attention to detail.
  • Are structured and able to prioritize your tasks.  
  • Have professional skills in Excel and SharePoint.
