We are looking for a VMware Virtualisation Support Specialist in Warsaw to improve our virtualisation support. You will get the chance to work in a team of over a dozen employees and external consultants to drive Nordea network support.
About our team
In this position you will be collaborating closely with VMware Engineering (governance, security, architecture & design) team running projects & defining infrastructure’s future and the external company doing most of daily support operation work from India. You will focus on reducing the number and duration of major incidents, resource optimization (people's work, servers, licenses, etc.), improving support for other teams doing IT operation and development. The team will work in hybrid mode, at least 2 days per week from the office.

What you’ll be doing
Main responsibilities in this role:
- Show an advanced understanding of VMware technologies, virtualization operations and governance with a focus on automation, analysis, modification and testing of vmware services
- Design, build, implement and maintain automation in order to optimize virtualization platform spend, identify and remediate security risks and safeguard compliance across vmware platform.
- Identifies, verifies and remediates inconsistent configurations
- Implement proactive health checks and internal audits to ensure comprehensive and reliable monitoring coverage
- Perform troubleshooting, resolution, and problem analysis
- Prepare technical documentation, including software design evaluation plans, test results and technical manuals
- Seek opportunities to discover new and better solutions.
- Communicates basic platform concepts to technical audiences and management; technical issues and problems to service provider to solve problems and install and test new components
- Identify and pursue opportunities for self-improvement of technical and non-technical skills
- Take the initiative to do what needs to be done without being asked
- Articulate and advocate new technical and non-technical ideas within the team

Desirable experience and skills, you don't have to have them all, to be a good candidate:
- Experience in managing Enterprise level virtualisation platform
- Experience in VMware/VCF, SXi hosts, vCenter/VSphere, VROPS, vRealize Log/Network Insight, VRA and Orchestrator (VRO), NSX, VSAN, HCX
- Experience in Windows Server / SCCM management
- Skilled at daily IT management
- Skilled at planning and controlling IT operations
- Having proficiency in English, spoken and written B2
- Experienced with working for a financial institution
